SOLD!

Longing…wanting to be with someone so bad it hurts.  Whether you’re separated by distance, death, or even emotionally, there is a deep longing to be close to the ones we love.  Recently, a friend of ours lost her 18-year-old son and I could only imagine the pain the separation caused her.  It sparked the inspiration for this painting.

This has become my favorite painting.  I loved working on it, the colors and textures that came together.  It came out exactly as I had imagined it and as I painted, it reminded me of the people I love both near and far.

It’s two separate panels so it can be hung in a variety of ways.  It looks great close together or even on opposite sides of a door.  The pieces can be separated between two people that are apart from one another as a reminder of their love–lots of possibilities.
