My first post of 2015! Wow! The holidays were so busy and I hit the ground running in 2015 and finally got a painting completed. I’m so happy to be back at the easel after a lovely holiday vacation.
We spent Christmas in San Diego at a lovely tropical resort. The gardens were lush and beautiful with koi ponds scattered throughout. I grabbed a pic with my cell phone and new I had to paint it!
I’m challenging myself to try new things in the coming year. I’ve been playing with a new surface– painting on wood panels instead of canvas. I’m already in love, although, it takes a bit more work to prepare the surface of the board. I think it’s really going to work well for me. I’ve also started experimenting with cold wax medium. I think it’s something that I’m going to love, but I’m working on learning how to use it. Which is why, I haven’t posted any work until now. I’m kinda on a learning curve at the moment. However, I love how this painting turned out! I can see that I’m really going to enjoy working with these new elements.
I hope you had a wonderful holiday season and that 2015 brings you new challenges and great success!
