Oil on canvas
Lately, I’ve been in a rut and painting hasn’t come easy. So, I decided to shake it up a bit and paint something different. These were the flowers that my hubby bought me for our recent anniversary. After 26 years of marriage, he knows what I like, he should right? I mean 26 years is long enough to figure out what a woman wants–right? ; ) I’m not one for red roses and I hate carnations but I do love wild flowers and colorful bouquets. Although these aren’t all wildflowers, I do like the mix of color and different types of flowers.
My favorite part of this painting is the thick paint and the swirls of color. It was just fun to paint, and that’s what I needed. I needed to relax and play at the canvas. If you haven’t taken the time to play and have fun creatively, let this be a reminder. Cut loose, let it go, and just be free in whatever it is you’re doing!

Good advise; terrific painting!
Thank you, Jim! I thought about you when I was painting this. : )
