I’m an “only” child and the idea of siblings has always fascinated me.  When I was a little girl, the only thing in the world I wanted was a little sister, but it wasn’t meant to be.  As I worked on this painting, I imagined what it might be like to have siblings, to be a sister to someone.  I imagined having a life long friend who was always there for me, having someone who looked up to me, someone to giggle with under the covers and someone to share the blame when trouble came.   Would we’ve been close?  Would we’ve gotten along well?   This relationship will always be a mystery to me.
