Oil on gallery wrapped canvas

Everyone is looking for a tribe, a place to belong.  We have a desire to be around like minded people who “get us” in way that others don’t.  There are tribes of women, men, teenagers, mothers, fathers, family, sports teams, religious groups.  There are so many different types of tribes and yet sometimes it’s still difficult to find the place where you fit.   The tribe I feel most at home in is my immediate family tribe.

When we moved to Colorado, I fell in with a group of artists.  For the first time in my life I felt like I had found people who really understood my artistic side.   It was such an exciting feeling to finally feel like I had found my people.

“Tribes” for me depicts the search for a people and place of belonging.
