The house has sold!  Ok, so this is really happening! We’re moving to New York City!  Our closing date is scheduled for the first week in February so we have plenty of time to pack and get ready for the big move.

The great thing about having a contract is that we don’t have to show the house, which means we don’t have to leave every couple of hours or stay out all day.   This may give me the opportunity to paint a bit before I have to pack it up.

I need to paint, I’ve been a bit grumpy the past few weeks.  No studio time makes me agitated and so I’m concerned about my “state-of-mind” while we are in this transition period. It may take weeks to find an apartment once we get there and then even more time to find a studio space. So, I’ve come up with a solution: I’m going to keep my sketch books with me and keep a diary of future painting ideas.  By the time I get into the studio, all I’ll have to do is put the ideas on canvas.

During this time, I can’t help but think about our creative journey and where its has taken us so far.  It began in Tulsa with a decision to follow our dreams and live life to the fullest. That brought us to Denver where we began to blossom and grow.  We’ve discovered new talents and begun to think about the many possibilities that are out there.  And now, here we are, getting ready for the next exciting new adventure.

Without a doubt, New York City is going to challenge us in every way possible.  It won’t be easy, but you know, they say, “If you can make it there…”.
